Epic failure

So, this afternoon I was doing some surfing, and dropped by Jessica Chobot’s blog. For those of you not familiar with her, she’s a journalist/host for IGN (a videogame and media news site). She also does some modeling on the side. The blog can be found here

http://blogs.ign.com/Jess-IGN

NOTE: It is not 100% SFW, although there is nothing overtly bad there.

The top post (as of this writing) deals with some quackery that apparently made Fox News lately. Chobot’s blog post more or less sums it up, but I checked out the news clip myself, (here’s a link) and wanted to add a few things:

-The average gamer is well over 18

-You DON’T need to pick up a game’s box to see the rating, it is on both the front and back

-It does not deserve an AO. The description/requirements for AO is clearly listed on the ESRB site, and Mass Effect does not meet it. Companies must submit all the things they think will affect the ratings to the ESRB. The board is free to change the rating instantly at any time should new details emerge.

The amount of failure here rivals the infamous “Fox 11 investigates ‘anonymous‘”, except this time it’s worse, less plausible, and spun by the national version of Fox News . It’s obvious from this report that none of the people involved, except Geoff have ever played the game. Most act like they have never even tried to buy a game. I have to agree with some of the comments this story has gotten: It seems many of these people hadn’t even heard of the game until just before this aired. AND YOU ARE FORMING SCIENTIFIC OPINIONS ON IT?????? So, Fox News and Cooper Lawrence, the following is host of failure images. They are for YOU, for completely deserving them.
