Safari 4

Apple released the public beta of Safari 4 today. I’ve been trying it out this morning. Some new features include tabs on top of the window (like Chrome), and the address bar searching page text and titles/history indexing, like Firefox 3. There is also a new home page you can use that shows images of your most viewed sites. Still don’t know if I will give up FF3 just yet, I need to see if I can get used to Safari’s RSS reader. Some early impressions:

1. This thing is FAST! I mean, fast. I gave up on Safari 3 becuase it seemed to horribly slow compared to FF3, but this fixed all that. It just flies, it’s great.

2. Liking the “favorite sites” feature, going to be very handy once it’s used enough to figure out my favorite pages

3. Need to see if there is any way to make the search bar look up wikipedia….

  1. I just downloaded Safari 4… Haven’t checked it out yet but it looks way awesome! I was unsure if it would be actually be fast after what happened with Safari 3. I have no doubt that there’s a Wiki search engine for Safari.

  2. I believe you may want to check out SAFT:
